Disassembly Procedure

ASUS N75 (N75SF, N75SL) Series Notebook consists of various modules. This chapter describes the procedure for the complete notebook disassembly. In addition, in between procedures, the detailed disassembly procedure of individual modules will be provided for your needs.

The disassembly procedure consists of the following steps:

  • Battery Module
  • HDD Module
  • Memory Module
  • WLAN (WiFi) Module
  • ODD (Optical Drive Disc)
  • Keyboard
  • Top Case Module
  • Motherboard Module
  • CPU
  • VGA Module
  • LCD Module

Battery Module

The illustration below shows how to remove the battery module.

Remove Battery Module

1. Hold the battery latch toward the arrow to take the battery away.


HDD Module

The illustration shows how to remove the HDD Module.

Remove HDD Module

1. Remove 2 screws on the HDD door and take the door away.

2. Remove 4 screws on 2 HDD modules.

3. Remove the 2 HDD modules toward the arrow.

4.Take 2 HDD module away.

4. Remove 4 screws on the bracket. Take the HDD away.


Memory Module

The illustrations below show how to remove the Memory Module from the notebook.

Remove Memory Module

1. Pull two latches here to pop the Memory module up at 45 angles, and then pull out the module at that angle.


WLAN (WiFi) Module

The illustrations below show how to remove the WLAN Module from the notebook.

1. Lift up to disconnect the WLAN antennas

2. Remove 2 screws on the WLAN module, and then remove the module.


ODD (Optical Drive Disc)

The illustration shows how to remove the ODD.

Remove ODD

1. Remove 1 screw on the bottom case.

2. Pull out and remove the ODD.


Keyboard Module

The illustrations below show how to remove and disassemble the Keyboard Module.

Remove the Keyboard Module

1. Remove 23 screws on the bottom case.

2. Use disassembly tool to pry up the KB cover.

3. Take the KB cover away.

4. Remove 3 screws on the keyboard.

5. Turn over the keyboard.

6. Disconnect the keyboard FPCs and take the keyboard away.


Top Case Module

The illustrations below show how to remove and disassemble the Top Case Module.

Remove the Top Case Module

1. Remove 6 screws on the top case.

2. Disconnect the TP FFC and LED FFC.

3. Use disassembly tool to pry up the sides of the top case.

4. And then take it away.


USB board Module

The illustrations below show how to disassemble and remove the USB board Module.

Remove the USB board Module

1. Tear off 1 tape on the speaker module.

2. Disconnect the USB cable & CMOS cable & speaker cable & LVDS cable.

3. Remove 3 screws on the speaker module and take it away.

4. Remove 1 screw on the USB board and take it away.


Motherboard Module

The illustrations below show how to disassemble and remove the Motherboard Module.

Remove the Motherboard Module

1. Remove 6 screws on the LCD hinges

2. Put the LCD module on the table.

3. Disconnect the speaker cable.

4. Remove 6 screws on the main board and thermal module.

5. Take the main board module away.

6. Tear off 1 tape. Remove 8 screws on the thermal module.

7. Disconnect the thermal fan cable and take the thermal module away.

8. Turn the non-removable screw here 180 degrees counter-clockwise to loosen the CPU. Take the CPU away.

9. Remove 2 screws on the VGA board and take the board away


LCD Module

The illustrations below show how to remove and disassemble the LCD Module of the notebook.

Removing the LCD Module

1. Remove 2 rubber pads and 2 screws on LCD front bezel.

2. Use disassembly tool to pry up the edge of the bezel.

3. And take the LCD front bezel away.

4. Remove 12 screws on the LCD module.

5. Take the panel away.

6. Remove 4 screws on LCD hinges.

7. Tear off the tape.

8. And disconnect the LVDS cable.
