Disconnect the battery cable from the laptop’s motherboard.

Disconnecting the battery from the motherboard is done in order to remove the electric charge from the motherboard. After switching off, wait for a while until the residual charge on the motherboard disappears.

Dell G3 laptop has 2 slots of DDR4 memory. 32Gb maximum memory capacity of the Dell G3. To install RAM, insert the memory module at an angle of 45% and press until the final fixation. To remove RAM, pull two latches here to pop the Memory module up at 45 angles, and then pull out the module at that angle.

How to replace Hard Drive on Dell G3

For upgrade or replace the hard drive, you must disconnect the hard drive cable from the motherboard and unscrew the 2 screws. Next, unscrew the 4 screws on the ends of the hard drive and remove the HDD from the cover.

How to replace thermal grease in a Dell G3 laptop

To replace the thermal paste, we need to remove the cooling systems, for this, unscrew the 8 screws marked in the yellow circles in the photo below.

Next, lift up the thermal tubes and clean the CPU and GPU from the old thermal paste, and remove the old thermal grease from the thermotubes.

A new thermal grease is applied in a thin and even layer over the entire surface of the processor chip and video chip. After that, install the cooling system and screw back all the screws.


Replacement WiFi card in Dell G3 laptop

To replace the WiFi card, you need to unscrew one screw, then remove the plastic cap and turn off the wifi antennas from the wifi card. Now you can remove and replace the wifi card in your laptop. In Dell G3579 installed Intel 9462NGW wireless module.

Reset BIOS settings on Dell G3 laptop
